Κέβητος πίναξ [The Table of Cebes], by Alessandro Barbone and Tommaso Francesco Bórri 

The scholastic edition, according to the method of Athènaze, about this interesting hellenistic dialog on a philosophical-moral argument, that has established for centuries, even a motivation for the simplicity and exemplary clarity of the language, a classic on the teaching of Greek.

It contains:
– an historical-critique introduction to the Table of Cebes and to its problems;
– the whole text, glossed with images or explanations with Greek words already known;
– the rubrics To know more (sheets to enrich the student in Greek civilization and culture as well as philosophy), Phraseology (expressions and idiomatic phrases) and Greek in Italian (Italian words derived from Greek in the Table of Cebes);
– abbundant linguistc notes;
– a glossary.

The book, which contains two reproductions of the Tables, one ancient and one modern, is intended for students who have completed the primary study of the first twenty chaptres of Athènaze; however, as one proceeds little by little into the reading of The Table of Cebes, one may also engage in the study of the other chapters.

Ἐφόδιον [Ephòdion], by Alessandro Barbone

This volume contains a story of original texts (Aesop, fragments of philosophers, the words of Menander, the Gospels and the Hellenistic period Romance of Alexander), carefully glossed and furnished with introductory material and commentary. The anthlogy is also rich with notes on philosohy and Greek culture.
A true ἐφόδιον: enlightening prepratory material, nutrition and sustenance for comunicating with certainly and joy the journey to the discovery of Greek art and thought.

Exercise book I (Chapters I-VIII), by Alessandro Barbone

This volume contains new supplementary exercises – beyond those contained in the first volume of Athènaze and the Meletèmata –, from the traditional type to more innovative.
The exercises can be utilized for the consolidation of what has been learned so far, for periodic verification of the student’s progress, and for review.
