About our courses Four different learning levels As far as grammar is concerned, here are the subjects that will be covered in each level:<\/span> A course tailored for you
\n<\/strong>The\u00a0Scholae aestivae per Rete<\/em> are a summer Latin course, conducted in Latin and based on the<\/span>\u00a0\u201cnature\u201d,\u00a0or \u201cinductive-contextual,\u201d\u00a0method<\/a>. The course is directed towards everyone, from teachers to students to plain enthusiasts, who has a love for the language of Rome.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>When registering, the participants will choose one of four levels \u2013 from level A1, the most elementary, to B2, the intermediate one.<\/span>
\nWe recommend that in choosing your level you take into account not only your passive knowledge of the language but also, and even more importantly, your active proficiency in speaking and writing.<\/span>
\nThe textbook of reference will be H. H. \u00d8rberg\u2019s<\/span> Familia Romana<\/em><\/a>. <\/span>
\nThe following\u00a0chart\u00a0shows the chapters of\u00a0Familia Romana\u00a0<\/em>to be covered:<\/span>
\nA1<\/strong>: chapters I through X;<\/span>
\nA2<\/strong>: chapters XI through XVIII;<\/span>
\nB1<\/strong>: chapters XIX through XXVII;<\/span>
\nB2<\/strong>: chapters XXVIII through XXXIV.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nA1: the first three declensions, first class adjectives, demonstrative pronouns and adjectives, the present infinitive;<\/span>
\nA2: the five declensions, first and second class adjectives, pronouns, adverbs, comparatives and superlatives of adjectives and adverbs, deponent verbs, the present, both active and passive;<\/span>
\nB1: the supine, the perfect, imperfect, pluperfect and future indicative, both active and passive, the present subjunctive, the gerund;<\/span>
\nB2: the gerundive, all the tenses of the subjunctive, the sequence of tenses, the syntax of period.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>We believe that Latin is a language too, and that in order to learn any language well, one must exercise the four basic linguistic skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing<\/a>.<\/span>
\nWe want everybody to take an active part in our lessons: that\u2019s why each group will be composed of no more than ten participants<\/strong>.<\/span>
